Reviews Of "D" Tales
Smooth Jazz Daily's "First View" from Germany writes... "A debut of a professional musician, who is so long in music business like Robert Damper, is obviously an acoustic event. "D" Tales is far more than that. Damper makes a good thing better and delivers the reference album of this just started year." Sandy Shore of SmoothJazz.com review writes... "After 30 incredible years as superstar Kenny G’s keyboardist, musical director, arranger and co-collaborator, Robert Damper fulfills his decades-long dream with his exciting and inspiring emergence as a solo artist in his own right. Damper’s debut D TALES, featuring whimsical guest spots by Kenny G, Najee and singer/songwriter Skyler Jett (Commodores), offers an eclectic mix of old school funk, jamming, soft-spoken romantic eloquence and deep sensual soul. You’ll enjoy listening to these infectious D TALES over and over!" Howard Duke of Soultrack's review writes... "Each track is well-crafted and connected by the element of jazz improvisation and high quality instrumental or vocal performances that mark the best of jazz and R&B. Damper took a lot of notes during his three plus decades backing up jazz, soul and pop legends, and those lesson yield stellar grades on his debut project. Highly Recommended"
